Although we own the responsibility to take care of our emotional health by incorporating healthy practices. But a supportive family helps us combat stress through emotional connection. Research has shown that lonely people are more prone to physical pains and emotional imbalance as compared to the one with supportive families. Loneliness aggrevate same part of the brain as physical pain. Our health is also dependent on levels of stress we go through. The amount of stress we are exposed to also directly affects our digestion. According to the Principles of naturopathic medicine, sound digestion is the foundation of good health. Movement is also crucial as a foundation for good health as it is required to release enough dopamine and epinephrine, and supports blood circulation. It is hard to worry when you are busy doing productive physical activities. And finally a balanced diet is definitely a cornerstone for good health. But we seem to forget that what connects us to our higher self is spirituality. It is the understanding and motivation that we have a higher purpose to know ourself, take care of our families in the right way, serve humanity and the higher intelligence which is running the universe. This motivation is what keeps us spiritually alive and can turn provide greater emotional resilience.
